About Cambridge Web Designs
Your local Greater Boston web designer
Hi, I'm Keron Williams. I've spent over 10 years building websites, and I still build every one by hand, in clean code, without a page builder.
Cambridge Web Designs is how I help local businesses, especially contractors and the trades, get a website that looks sharp, loads fast on a phone and makes it easy for customers to call. I write the words, host the site and handle every change, so your website is one less thing on your plate.
You'll never be handed off to a junior designer or a support ticket. From the first call to every edit after launch, you deal with me directly, by phone or email.
We work with businesses in every town across Greater Boston and the North Shore. Farther away? We work with businesses anywhere, remotely, by phone and email.
What business owners ask before getting started. Don't see yours? Call or email and ask.
How long does it take to build my website?
It mostly depends on how quickly we get your content. Once you've answered the short questionnaire and sent photos of your work, we build your site from the starting design you picked and send you a preview link. You get two rounds of changes, and it goes live as soon as you approve it. We'll give you a realistic timeline with your quote.
Why is a hand-coded website better than WordPress or Wix?
Website builders like WordPress, Wix and Squarespace load a lot of extra code on every page, which slows your site down, especially on a phone. Slow sites lose impatient visitors, and speed is one of the things Google looks at. A hand-coded site is lean and built only for your business, with no plugins to update and no builder subscription to pay.
How much does a website cost for a small business in Greater Boston?
The monthly plan is $0 down and $150 a month, with a 6-month minimum, then month-to-month (cancel with 30 days' notice). It covers a custom 5-page site, copywriting, hosting, unlimited text, photo and minor layout edits, a 24/7 line for site-down emergencies, a free logo and a domain registered in your name. Rather own it outright? It's $3,800 one-time: $1,900 at signing and $1,900 before launch. Extra pages are $100 each, and add-ons are $25/mo each.
What does local SEO mean, and does my business need it?
Local SEO means setting up your website so it shows up when people nearby search for what you do, like "roofer in Quincy" or "electrician near Salem." It covers pages for your services and the towns you work in, clear page titles, and business details Google can read. Every site we build is fast and written around your services and your towns, and local SEO on your service pages or service-area pages is a $25/mo add-on each. Nobody honest can promise you the top spot on Google, but a fast, clear site gives you a real shot. Keep your Google Business Profile up to date too. It's free and often shows up first.
Do you offer ongoing help after my site launches?
Yes. On the monthly plan, text, photo and minor layout changes are unlimited and done within 3 business days through our edit form, and if your site goes down you can call (617) 982-3198 any time. Everything else is answered the next business day. On the one-time plan, you get 30 days of free fixes for anything we got wrong, then edits are $25/hr (1-hour minimum).
Do you work with businesses outside Greater Boston and the North Shore?
Yes. We work with businesses in every town across Greater Boston and the North Shore, and remotely with businesses anywhere. Everything can be handled by phone and email, whatever works best for you.
